All my cover versions are created by ear and from scratch. I do NOT use samples, nor do I overdub performances to original works. I enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction of performing and producing every element myself, with the goal of making as musically accurate a recreation as I can.
I also create educational content and livestream sessions for those interested in my tools and techniques.

Glory Of Love - Peter Cetera. Instrumental cover (Karate Kid ii theme).
This is the movie version of the song 'Glory Of Love' by Peter Cetera, fully recreated from the ground up.
I'm a fan of the song, but an even bigger fan of the movie 'The Karate Kid Part II" in which this song was featured, both within the movie and during the end credits. So my version here is very much a tribute to some special memories growing up in the 1980s.
I've incorporated some elements found in the movie version that weren't in the released single.
Additionally, early in the song I shared the original vocal melody between a Pipe Flute and a Saxaphone. The Pipe Flute I felt was appropriate because it was used in various places in the original Karate Kid saga.

@@alfredknodler540 thanks 👍. I just created the borders in Photoshop and saved as a .PNG file with a transparent background. Then created 3 masks in Final Cut to those borders, and added 3 layers of video footage. For the 'moving frames' I just key framed the masks. It took a little figuring out at first, it wasn't that complicated to do. 🙂

Thank you. Yeah, I was debating with myself whether or not to leave the pipe flute and sax lead in the first verse, and in the end decided not to take it out because being a slow ballad it needed a little something in there. If I played the first verse as iI did in the second at 1:39 (on the piano / e piano / harp), I felt it would've sounded repetitive, then some people wouldn't stick around for the middle-8. While I often end up wishing I'd done something slightly differently after release (musician's curse), I actually still like what I did here. I do appreciate different perspectives, so I thank you for taking the time to comment 🙏
